His Royal Majesty, Dr. Zubairu Hammangabdo Sambo, the Lamido of Gashaka, has officially turbaned Major General Adamu Abubakar (Rtd.) and Abdulkadir Yelwa Idris as Bauran Gashaka and Madakin Gashaka, respectively.

The turbaning ceremony, organized by the Gashaka traditional Council, took place over the weekend at the Gashaka Township Stadium in Serti, Taraba State, and was attended by dignitaries from across the country.
Speaking at the event, Lamido Zubairu Hammangabdo Sambo said the titles were conferred in recognition of the honourees’ significant contributions to the development of the emirate, particularly through their support for the Gashaka Traditional Council and other local initiatives.

The Lamido urged the newly turbaned titleholders to continue promoting unity, inclusiveness, and development across the chiefdom. He also called on traditional leaders and community members to support the new appointees in their efforts to advance the emirate.
In his remarks, the monarch appealed to the federal and state governments, as well as private investors and enterprising individuals, to explore and invest in the untapped potential of Gashaka.

In his acceptance speech, Major General Abubakar (Rtd.) expressed gratitude to God, the Lamido, and the people of Gashaka for the honour bestowed on him. He pledged to continue working for peace, unity, and progress in the region.
The event featured vibrant traditional dances and performances, including a cultural display by children, adding colour and excitement to the ceremony.
