Governor AbdulRazaq Swears in New Advisers, Auditor General, and Permanent Secretaries in Kwara

Ilorin, Kwara State – April 22, 2025

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State on Tuesday swore in two Special Advisers, a new Auditor General, and seven Permanent Secretaries, charging them to bring fresh energy and integrity to governance in the state.

The inauguration ceremony, held in Ilorin, saw the appointment of Alhaji Abdulrazaq Jiddah as Special Adviser on Special Duties and Ambassador Umulkhaer Onaolamipo Ahmed Alaye as Special Adviser on Civic Engagement. Alayande Fatai was also sworn in as the new Auditor General of the state.

The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are:

Afolabi Olaitan (Ministry of Energy)

Shittu Olufunke Mercy (Service Welfare)

Abdulazeez Tinuke Risikat (Housing and Urban Development)

Taoheed Abdullahi Ayodeji (Health)

Abu Anthony Gana (Works)

Salau Kabiru Abdullahi (Transportation)

Yahya Muhammed (Livestock Development)

Governor AbdulRazaq described the appointments as a “rare privilege to serve,” urging the appointees to lead by example and uphold the trust placed in them by over three million residents of the state.

“Your appointment places you in a privileged position to serve God and humanity, to make things better than you meet them, and to contribute to the development of our state through your offices,” he said.

He called on the new officials to discharge their duties with fairness, humility, and a strong commitment to ethical standards, adding that his administration remains committed to breaking new ground in public service.

The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Mamman Saba Jubril, also addressed the appointees, urging them to remain diligent and focused in their responsibilities.

Speaking on behalf of the newly appointed officials, Jiddah expressed gratitude to the Governor for the confidence reposed in them and pledged their unwavering commitment to the administration’s goals.

Dignitaries present at the event included former federal lawmaker Hon. Abdulganiyu Cook Olododo and Dr. Abubakar Usman Jos, the Balogun Alanamu of Ilorin.
