The management of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has announced the suspension of its planned relocation of the Faculty of Agriculture to the Ilesha-Baruba campus.
The decision was conveyed in an official memo issued by the university’s Registrar, Dr. Kikelomo W. Sallee, on Thursday. According to the statement, the relocation has been put on hold until further notice.
“Management wishes to inform the Faculty of Agriculture that the earlier scheduled relocation to Ilesha-Baruba campus is hereby suspended. A new date will be announced in due course,” the memo stated.
The faculty was initially scheduled to commence the Rain semester at the Ilesha-Baruba campus as part of KWASU’s broader plan to decentralize and expand academic activities across its satellite campuses.
While no specific reason was given for the suspension, sources within the university suggest that issues related to infrastructure readiness and staff accommodation are being reviewed.
Students and faculty members have been advised to await further directives from the university management as preparations for the eventual relocation continue.
