Reverend Joseph John Hayab, Country Director of the Global Peace Foundation and Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) for the 19 Northern States and Abuja, has officially assumed the role of Chairman of the National Patrons Forum of the Royal Ambassadors of Nigeria (RAN).
The formal handover ceremony occurred during the 112th Annual Convention-in-Session of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, marking a significant leadership transition for the youth-focused missionary organisation.
In his inaugural address, Rev. Hayab urged Nigerian youth to foster positive narratives about the country and embrace their roles as peace builders. He emphasised the importance of interfaith collaboration and called on newly inducted patrons to contribute meaningfully to the organisation’s mission.
The session was presided over by the Marshal of RAN, Coun. Bitebo Erogoba (Post Pleni), who reaffirmed his commitment to expanding the organisation’s outreach. He highlighted the success of the 8th RAN Jamboree, which brought together over 1,600 ambassadors in Kaduna in September 2024.
Notable dignitaries at the event included Dr. Dawari George, President of the Baptist World Alliance Men’s Department; Dr. Julius Ojebode, National President of the Men’s Missionary Union (MMU); Coun. Ayo Adekunle, Marshal of the Royal Ambassadors of Africa; and Amb. Dr. Toba Bamidele, National Youth President.
In his remarks, Dr. Ojebode commended the Royal Ambassadors for their discipline and encouraged men and boys to adopt a lifestyle of prayer and fasting.
Preaching on the theme “Entering into Newness Through Fasting and Prayer,” Rev. Dr. Adeshina Abegunde emphasised spiritual renewal as key to progress and warned that stagnation can arise in the absence of spiritual growth.
A major highlight of the convention was the official handover from outgoing Chairman Rev. Dr. Kehinde Olaleye to Rev. Hayab. Seven new patrons were also inducted into the National Patrons Forum, including Dn. Engr. Mfon Taiwo Enobong Essien, Mr. Victor Aduku, Dn. Hon. Samuel Ubankato Tanko, Mr. Bivan Steven Luka, Mr. Ezra Hassan Dantawaye, Engr. Dauda John Mbaya, and Dr. Thot Joseph Dogo.
Speaking on behalf of the new patrons, Hon. Ubankato pledged their full support to advancing the goals and vision of the Royal Ambassadors of Nigeria.
The organisation is scheduled to hold its next National Leadership Training Conference in Edo State in October 2025.
