The Chief Imam of the Taraba State Police Command Headquarters Jummu’at Mosque, Ustaz Mustapha Nuhu Badamasi, has expressed concern over the increasing public outcry regarding poor service delivery at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jalingo.
Delivering his Friday sermon in Jalingo, the state capital, the cleric lamented the deteriorating state of healthcare at the centre, which he said has triggered widespread dissatisfaction among residents who depend on the hospital for essential medical services.
According to him, the persistent complaints from patients and families reflect a deeper systemic problem that needs urgent intervention from the hospital management and relevant health authorities. He stressed that healthcare facilities should serve the people with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency.
Ustaz Badamasi urged the Federal Government and the Ministry of Health to investigate the situation and implement necessary reforms to improve the quality of service at the centre. He also called for enhanced oversight and accountability to ensure that public health institutions meet their responsibilities to the citizens.
Efforts to reach the hospital management for comments on the allegations were unsuccessful as of press time.
