Kurmi Taraba state – May 3, 2025
Kurmi Local Government Area of Taraba State is witnessing a wave of support for its council chairman, Hon. Moses Maihankali, whose leadership has been widely praised for promoting inclusivity, development, and political stability.

Stakeholders across the LGA have described Maihankali’s administration as result-driven and people-centered, highlighting his loyalty to the Taraba State Government and his collaborative approach with local stakeholders, particularly within the Ndola community, women groups, and youth organisations.
Residents credit him with fostering unity and development without bias to religion, ethnicity, or political affiliation. His consistent presence in community affairs and dedication to duty have drawn commendations, with many pointing to his punctuality, humility, and responsiveness to grassroots concerns as hallmarks of his leadership style.

A community leader in Baissa, Mr. Joshua Nwobodo, described Maihankali as “a bridge-builder and a leader who listens to the people.” He said, “This is the first time in recent memory that the entire local government feels represented. His style of leadership has brought peace and development to our communities.”
According to other community members, Hon. Maihankali has demonstrated “unwavering commitment to service delivery,” positioning him as a symbol of continuity in local governance.
There are growing calls from various quarters in Kurmi LGA urging him to seek re-election, citing his performance and the need to consolidate ongoing developmental initiatives.

As political activities gather momentum ahead of the next local government polls, observers note that Maihankali’s inclusive and non-divisive approach to leadership may serve as a model for other council areas in the state.
