Benue State’s Commissioner of Police, Emenari Ifeanyi, has initiated a strategic deployment of tactical commanders to communities grappling with escalating security challenges.

This decision follows an emergency security meeting convened on May 3 at the Police Officers’ Mess in Makurdi, attended by senior police officials, area commanders, tactical units, and divisional heads.
In a statement released on Sunday, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Catherine Anene, confirmed the deployment and outlined the Commissioner’s directives to the newly assigned commanders.
Emphasizing the need for proactive strategies, CP Emenari urged the officers to collaborate with other security stakeholders, including quasi-security outfits operating within their areas of responsibility.

The Commissioner underscored the importance of community policing as a sustainable model for effective security management, stating, “All hands must be on deck.”
He also highlighted his administration’s zero tolerance for corruption and any form of unprofessional conduct that could tarnish the image of the Nigeria Police Force.
Officers were warned against misconduct, with assurances that exemplary behavior would be duly rewarded.

“I am committed to rewarding professionalism, discipline, and dedication. The public expects the best from us, and we must not disappoint,” CP Emenari affirmed.
He further expressed a willingness to work closely with traditional rulers, community leaders, and all citizens invested in the safety and peace of Benue State.

This strategic move reflects the Benue State Police Command’s ongoing commitment to restoring order and enhancing public safety across the state.
