Jada LGA Clinches 2025 Adamawa Governor’s Cup

Jada Local Government Area (LGA) has emerged winner of the 2025 edition of the Adamawa Governor’s Cup, a football tournament featuring all 21 LGAs of the state.

The team secured the title after a 4-2 victory on penalties against Yola North LGA in the final played at the sports grounds of the Federal College of Education, Yola. The tightly contested match had ended goalless after regulation time.

Lamurde LGA claimed third place at the close of the tournament, which kicked off in February and drew large crowds throughout its duration.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who led the state delegation to the closing ceremony, congratulated the finalists and all participating teams for what he described as “commendable sportsmanship and discipline.”

The governor announced a cash reward of N1 million for each of the 21 LGAs that participated in the competition. He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting grassroots sports development.

Fintiri disclosed that a world-class stadium currently under construction in Yola will host future editions of the tournament.

He presented the trophy to the victorious Jada LGA team at the ceremony, which was attended by senior government officials, dignitaries, and football enthusiasts.
