The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has organised a one-day capacity-building workshop for its adhoc staff in preparation for the 2025 Hajj operation.
The workshop, which took place at the Afficient Event Center, gathered key stakeholders and temporary staff selected to assist in this year’s pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
According to a statement from the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Comrade Abdullahi Sulaiman Dederi, the training focused on enhancing the participants’ knowledge and skills in managing pilgrims’ welfare, logistics, and providing spiritual guidance.
Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, Director General of the Board, highlighted the importance of professionalism, discipline, and commitment to service.
He noted that the training was an essential step in improving service delivery and ensuring the well-being of Kano pilgrims.
“We are committed to delivering the best possible experience to our pilgrims. This training is critical in preparing our team to meet the highest standards of service and conduct during the Hajj,” he said.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Alhaji Yusif Lawan, also addressed the workshop, noting that presentations were made by experienced Hajj officials, medical personnel, and Islamic scholars.
The training covered various topics including crowd management, first aid, communication skills, and the religious rites of Hajj.
Alhaji Umar Yakubu Kabara, Director of Special Duties, reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to continuous staff training and support, expressing confidence that the knowledge gained from the workshop would contribute to a successful Hajj operation this year.
