No fewer than 150 smallholder farmers across Bauchi, Gombe, and Yobe States have received free agricultural inputs from the Rural Health Mission Nigeria (RHMN) as part of efforts to support food production and improve livelihoods during the 2025 farming season.
The distribution, flagged off in Nangere Local Government Area of Yobe State, was presided over by the Emir of Tikau, Alhaji Mohammad Ibn Abubakar Grema, who commended the organisation for its continued support to rural communities. He urged beneficiaries to utilise the inputs efficiently to ensure a productive farming season.
In Yobe State, 50 farmers received inputs, comprising 30 millet farmers, 15 goat rearers, and five sorghum farmers.
Similarly, 50 farmers in Bauchi State’s Gamawa Local Government Area benefitted—10 rice farmers, five sorghum farmers, 33 millet farmers, and two goat rearers.
The final leg of the distribution held at Maikaho Primary School in Yamaltu-Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State, where 33 maize farmers, 10 rice farmers, six livestock farmers, and one millet farmer received farm inputs.
Each beneficiary received a package that included fertiliser, improved seeds (rice, maize, millet, sorghum), knapsack sprayers, Albit, and anti-termite treatment.
The intervention is expected to strengthen food security and contribute to local economic development in the benefitting communities.
