The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on Saturday led a special prayer session for peace and stability in Nigeria, while commending the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

The prayer session, held at the Emir’s palace in Ilorin, brought together Islamic scholars, political leaders, and traditional authorities to seek divine intervention amid the country’s socio-economic challenges.
“We are gathered to pray for lasting peace in our country and for the success of President Tinubu and Governor AbdulRazaq as they continue their efforts to improve the lives of Nigerians,” the Emir said before the commencement of prayers.

The spiritual exercise was led by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Soliu, alongside other prominent clerics including Imam Imale, Sheikh AbdulHamid Abdullahi; Imam Gambari, Imam Yakubu Aliagan; Ajanasi and Alfa Rabana; and the Grand Mufti of Ilorin, Sheikh Sulaiman Faruq Onikijipa.
Governor AbdulRazaq was represented by a high-powered delegation led by his Senior Adviser and Counselor, Alhaji Saadu Salahu. The event was attended by members of the Kwara State House of Assembly, former Grand Khadi Justice Solihu Mohammed, political appointees, and top All Progressives Congress (APC) figures in the state.

Speaking with journalists after the session, Salahu described the prayer as a show of solidarity and spiritual support from the Emir and the Ilorin emirate.
“The Emir has always demonstrated his unwavering support for Governor AbdulRazaq, who is his son, and now extends that support to the President. The palace remains a center for unity and divine supplication,” Salahu said.
He lauded the Governor’s commitment to peace, security, and development, noting that Kwara is now regarded as one of the most stable and secure states in the federation.

Salahu also expressed appreciation on behalf of the Governor to the Emir, the clerics, and the people of Kwara for their continued prayers and support for the administration’s developmental agenda.
