In a clearance operation conducted by troops of the 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, a suspected bandit was neutralized along the Bandawa–Karim Lamido road in Taraba State. The operation resulted in the recovery of an AK-47 rifle and 39 rounds of ammunition.
The action followed a strategic visit by Brig. Gen. Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa to Bandawa community, where he called for heightened military presence. Acting Spokesperson Capt. Oni Olubodunde emphasized the Brigade’s ongoing commitment to restoring peace in the area.
In a related move toward peace, community leaders and security personnel convened on May 12 to address recent clashes between residents of Kashimbila in Taraba and Jato Aka in Benue. Both communities pledged cooperation to ensure safety along the affected roads.
