The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has said the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is implementing critical reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s economy and entrenching good governance.

Akume stated this at the weekend while receiving a delegation of Benue State indigenes residing in Jos, Plateau State, who paid him a solidarity visit at his residence in Maitama, Abuja.

He noted that the Tinubu administration has articulated an eight-point agenda centred on economic revitalisation, infrastructure development, improved security, and the welfare of citizens.

The President has demonstrated clear commitment to national development through policies that are already setting the stage for sustainable economic growth,” Akume said.

He reiterated the need for national unity and urged Nigerians to support the administration’s efforts to deliver on its mandate.

The delegation, under the platform Friends of Sen. Dr. George Akume on the Plateau, was led by David Gbaun, who lauded Akume’s appointment as SGF, describing it as a landmark recognition for the North-Central region.

Gbaun commended Akume’s contributions to nation-building and called for urgent federal intervention to address ongoing security challenges in Benue State, particularly the recurrent attacks and killings in rural communities.

He further appealed for national support for President Tinubu’s administration, expressing optimism that it would exceed the performance of past governments in governance and service delivery.

As part of the visit, Akume was presented with Tiv traditional attire by a member of the delegation, Dennis Ukeyima, as a mark of honour and appreciation for his service to the nation.
