President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to supporting Taraba State in unlocking its vast natural resources for sustainable economic development.

Speaking through Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, who represented him at the opening of the Taraba International Investment Summit in Jalingo, the President said the federal government is ready to partner with the state to boost productivity, especially in agriculture and other key sectors.
“The natural endowments in Taraba are a blessing not just to the state, but to the entire nation. This summit is a timely and strategic move to attract meaningful investment and foster development,” the President said.

Held at the Banquet Hall of TY Danjuma House, the summit brought together prominent figures from the business, political, and traditional spheres. President Tinubu commended Governor Agbu Kefas for what he described as bold and visionary leadership, adding that the summit could become a turning point in Taraba’s economic journey.
Governor Kefas, in his welcome address, described the summit as “a light shining on the economic future of Taraba,” and assured both local and international investors of a peaceful, secure, and business-friendly environment.

Among the notable attendees were former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Chairman of the Dangote Group Aliko Dangote, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Chairman Tony Elumelu, and members of the diplomatic corps.
Also present were the Ghanaian Minister of Special Development Initiative, representing President Nana Akufo-Addo, the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Abubakar Sa’ad, the Ooni of Ife, and the Archbishop of Abuja, Most Reverend Ignatius Kaigama.

The summit aimed to position Taraba State as a prime destination for investment, focusing on sectors such as agriculture, solid minerals, tourism, and infrastructure.
