JALINGO – May 22, 2025

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially commissioned the remodelled Danbaba Suntai Airport in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.
The commissioning was carried out on his behalf by Vice President Kashim Shettima, who was in the state to attend the inaugural Taraba International Investment Summit.

Arriving at the airport on Wednesday morning, the Vice President cut the ceremonial ribbon to mark the formal opening of the upgraded facility, which underwent comprehensive renovation under the leadership of Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas.
The event drew a wide array of dignitaries, government officials, and investors, as the airport served as a gateway to the first-ever investment summit hosted by the state.

The summit is expected to position Taraba as a viable destination for both local and foreign investment.
While in Jalingo, the Vice President also inaugurated a newly constructed banquet hall at the TY Danjuma Government House.

The hall, which was initiated and completed by the Kefas administration, is equipped with modern amenities and is intended to host official events and high-level engagements.
The dual inaugurations are seen as key milestones in Taraba’s infrastructural development drive, aimed at improving the state’s investment climate and fostering economic growth.
