The President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has revealed that the Federal Government earns 52 kobo from every one naira generated through the operations of Dangote Cement.
Dangote made the disclosure while speaking at the 2025 Taraba International Investment Summit, held at the TY Danjuma House Banquet Hall in Jalingo. The summit brought together stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to discuss investment opportunities and strategies to diversify the state’s economy.
According to Dangote, the economic contribution of private enterprises such as Dangote Cement to government revenue is substantial and should be supported through policies that encourage investment and industrial growth.
“For every one naira generated by Dangote Cement, 52 kobo goes to the Federal Government. This highlights how much value government can derive from supporting private sector initiatives,” he said.
The industrialist stressed the importance of a business-friendly environment, noting that when businesses succeed, government revenues increase through taxes and levies, which in turn fund critical infrastructure projects.
Dangote also drew a parallel with the United States, saying, “The U.S. government does not own oil blocks, yet it remains one of the largest beneficiaries of oil production due to strong private sector engagement and a well-structured taxation system.”
He urged both federal and state governments to create more enabling conditions for investment, adding that this would not only boost economic output but also enhance the delivery of essential public services.
The summit was attended by government officials, investors, business leaders, and representatives of development agencies, all of whom echoed the need for increased collaboration between the public and private sectors to unlock economic potential.
