The President of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, Taraba State chapter, Comrade Bajison Damunga Wakili, has congratulated Rev. Fr. Dr. William Awoshiri on his emergence as the new Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Taraba State chapter.

Wakili, in a statement on Thursday, described Awoshiri’s election as a well-deserved victory, noting that it reflects the confidence the Christian community has in his leadership capacity and moral integrity.

He expressed optimism that the new CAN chairman would promote unity, peace, and religious harmony across the state, while continuing to provide moral direction at a time the country faces multiple social and economic challenges.

“The Christian Association of Nigeria in Taraba has been instrumental in fostering peaceful coexistence among the diverse religious groups. I believe Dr. Awoshiri will consolidate on this legacy,” the NULGE president said.

He prayed for divine guidance and strength for the new CAN leader and called on religious and community stakeholders to support him in his new role.

Rev. Fr. Awoshiri succeeds the previous CAN chairman following a state-wide consensus among Christian blocs.
