As Muslims across Kwara State prepare for the 2025 Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed no fewer than 2,900 officers to ensure a hitch-free festivity across the state.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, ASC I Ayoola Michael Shola, on behalf of the State Commandant, Dr. Umar J.G. Mohammed.

According to the statement, the personnel have been strategically deployed across all 16 local government areas of the state to safeguard lives, critical national assets, and ensure public safety at worship centres, recreation venues, and other locations expected to host large gatherings during the Sallah festivities.
Dr. Mohammed assured residents of the corps’ readiness to maintain law and order before, during, and after the celebration, stressing that the Command had conducted risk assessments and adopted a multi-layered security approach in line with national directives.
“Our presence will be visible, coordinated, and reassuring. We have identified critical flashpoints and will maintain a strong operational posture throughout the period,” the Commandant said.
He further directed Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, and Tactical Units to remain on high alert and deepen collaboration with local communities to preempt any breach of peace.
While warning criminal elements against exploiting the festive period to perpetrate crimes, Dr. Mohammed said any person or group caught attempting to foment trouble or vandalise infrastructure would be dealt with decisively in accordance with the law.
He congratulated the Muslim faithful in the state on the Eid celebration and urged them to remain vigilant and cooperative with security agencies by reporting any suspicious movement or activity within their environment.
The NSCDC’s move comes amid heightened security measures nationwide, as authorities seek to forestall any threat to peace and stability during the religious holiday.
