The Taraba State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr. Ella Aji Williams, has charged outgoing corps members to remain steadfast in promoting national values of patriotism, discipline, and self-reliance as they transition into life after service.
Speaking during the passing-out ceremony of the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 corps members held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, across various local government areas of the state, including Jalingo and Ardo-Kola, Mr. Williams commended the corps members for their commitment to national unity and community development.

He lauded their active participation in various Community Development Service (CDS) projects, describing their contributions as impactful and worthy of emulation. According to him, the legacy of their service will continue to speak in the lives they have touched during their stay in the state.
“I urge you all to carry forward the ideals of nation-building, discipline, and selfless service which you have imbibed during the service year. Nigeria needs young people who are prepared to lead by example,” he said.
The Coordinator also cautioned the corps members against the dangers of night travel and advised them to remain security-conscious at all times. He further encouraged them to leverage the vocational and digital skills acquired during the service year to become job creators rather than job seekers.
Highlighting the commitment of the NYSC to digital empowerment, the event featured the presentation of an Award of Excellence to Mr. Williams by Mr. Gaddafi Abubakar of the Mind the Gap Digital Skills Initiative. The award, which is the first of its kind nationwide, was given in recognition of his unwavering support for digital literacy and skills development among corps members in Taraba State.
A total of 617 corps members were discharged from national service, while 16 others had their service year extended due to various infractions.
The ceremony was conducted in line with the NYSC’s directive for a low-key celebration across the country.
