As part of activities to mark the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, Dangote Cement Plc, Obajana Plant, has intensified its engagements with host communities and government authorities in Kogi State.
The Plant Director, Engr. Nawabuddin Azad, disclosed this during a visit to the Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, where he said the company is scaling up its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts.

Azad noted that the cement giant had implemented several projects under its Community Development Agreement (CDA) and was committed to sustaining the pace.
“Our strategy focuses on creating sustainable livelihoods while addressing the unique needs of each host community,” he said.
He also praised the local government chairman for his support in maintaining peace around the company’s operational areas.
In his response, Adamu described Dangote Cement as a “national treasure” and called for collective efforts to protect the company’s investments, urging host communities to remain peaceful and law-abiding.
Azad also paid courtesy visits to traditional rulers in Apata and Obajana, thanking them for their support. The Olu of Apata, HRH Oba (Dr.) Fredrick D. Balogun, commended Azad’s leadership, while the Bajana of Obajana, HRH Idowu Isenibi, pledged continued cooperation with the company.

A statement issued by Dangote Cement listed several social projects the company has executed in the past few years. These include a multimillion-naira hospital in Iwaa, scholarship and empowerment schemes for women and youths, solar power projects, poultry initiatives, road and school construction, water and electricity provision, as well as support for cooperative societies and farmers.
The Obajana plant remains the largest cement facility in Sub-Saharan Africa and is described by the company as a cornerstone of Nigeria’s industrial growth.
