Alhaji Jauro Bala Kaigama, father of former President of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) of Nigeria, Dr. Bobboi Bala Kaigama, is dead. He died on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at the age of 89.
A statement signed by Dr. Bala Bobboi Kaigama, said the late Alhaji Kaigama passed away at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jalingo, following a brief illness.

“We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Alhaji Bala Kaigama. He lived a life of integrity and service. May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah Firdaus,” the statement read.
Born in 1936, the deceased was a respected community leader in Kam-Kam, Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State, and a former political figure in the defunct Gongola State. He was known for his dedication to peacebuilding, religious tolerance, and grassroots development.
He was described by many as a pious Muslim, a committed public figure, and a unifier in his community.
Reacting to his death, His Royal Highness, Dr. Usman S. Kakara Mbondua Kam, described the late Kaigama as a pillar of peace and development who devoted his life to promoting unity and understanding among diverse groups.
Also speaking, Dr. Babangida S.M. Nguroje, OFR, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, described the late community leader as a father to all and called on the family to take solace in the exemplary life he lived.

Alhaji Kaigama is survived by his children, including Dr. Bobboi Bala Kaigama, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Sympathisers from within and outside Taraba State have continued to visit the family residence in Kam-Kam to condole with the bereaved.
Burial rites were conducted in accordance with Islamic tradition.
