The Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate, Dr. Muhammed Bashir Solihu, has called on Muslims to live lives devoted to service to God and humanity, describing it as the true path to divine reward on the Day of Judgment.
He made the call during the Fidau prayer held in honour of the late Alhaji Isiaka Sulaiman at the Ile-Alagba Compound, Okeleru area of Ilorin.

Imam Solihu urged attendees to reflect on the temporary nature of life, reminding them that human beings arrive and depart the world with nothing.
“We came to this world with nothing and we shall leave with nothing. What will matter in the end is how we serve our Creator and fellow human beings,” he stated.
Describing Islam as a religion of peace, he encouraged followers to practice tolerance and mutual respect, especially among people of different faiths, to promote peaceful coexistence in society.

The Chief Imam also extended heartfelt condolences to Professor Abubakar Sulaiman, former Minister and Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Abuja, over the loss of his elder brother.
“The children of the deceased must emulate their fatherās legacy of humility, love, and service to others. That is the real inheritance,” he said.
Also speaking at the event, the Grand Mufti of Ilorin, Sheikh Sulaiman Faruq Onikijipa, described the late Alhaji Isiaka Sulaiman as a peaceful and contented man who lived a modest and impactful life.
The Fidau prayer was attended by a cross-section of Islamic clerics, community leaders, family members, and sympathisers, who came together to honour the memory of the late elder statesman.
