The Taraba State Government is set to train over 300 youths in modern farming techniques under the Kefas Agbu Agricultural Mechanization Project.
The Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Prof. Nicholas Namessan Oliver, disclosed this while addressing journalists in Jalingo. He said the initiative is a collaboration between the state government and CSS Integrated Farms, Keffi, Nasarawa State.

Oliver explained that the trainees, selected from all the local government areas of the state, were chosen with gender balance in mind.
He noted that since assuming office, Governor Agbu Kefas has made agriculture a focal point of his administration, leading to several reforms and recorded progress in the ministry.

The commissioner expressed optimism that the beneficiaries would replicate the knowledge gained during the training to other youths in their communities.
The participants are expected to depart the state on Sunday for the two-week intensive training programme, where they will be exposed to modern methods of farming.
