Taraba State marked a significant milestone in public service reform as it participated in Nigeria’s first-ever International Civil Service Conference held from June 25 to 26, 2025, in Abuja.
The event, themed “Rejuvenate, Innovate & Accelerate,” was hosted by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) and attracted over 5,000 delegates from across the globe.

Dr. Hamidu Ahmed Kara, Taraba’s Head of Service, led the state’s delegation, underscoring the administration’s commitment to modernizing the civil service. Governor Agbu Kefas, who inaugurated Dr. Kara in February 2025, has emphasized the need to rebuild the state’s civil service to achieve optimal performance.
