The President and Chief Executive Officer of FUNAB Group of Companies Ltd, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia, will on Saturday, June 28, 2025, be turbaned as Dan Amana of Fune Emirate in Yobe State.
The title is being conferred by His Royal Highness, Alhaji Dr. Saleh Ibn Uthman, the Emir of Fune, in recognition of Ajia’s unwavering loyalty, philanthropic gestures, and outstanding contributions to both the Emirate and the nation.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by Malam Abdulrahman Aliagan, Director of Communications to Alhaji Ajia.
The turbaning ceremony, which will take place at the Emir’s Palace in Damagum, is part of events marking the 25th anniversary of the Emir’s ascension to the throne. The celebration will also feature a special prayer on Friday, June 27, and the wedding ceremony of the children of Yobe State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Idi Barde Gubana (Wazirin Fune), on Saturday.
The Emirate described Alhaji Ajia as a dependable, selfless, and patriotic Nigerian whose relationship with the Fune Emirate spans several years, dating back to his time as a security aide to the late Governor of Yobe State, Senator Mamman B. Ali. Ajia was instrumental in maintaining strong ties between the palace and government during that period.
He later served as Aide-de-Camp to the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, who holds the title of Barde of Fune.
According to the Emir, the title of Dan Amana—which means “Custodian of Trust”—is reserved for individuals of proven integrity, loyalty, and commitment to the progress of the people.
Ajia has consistently supported initiatives in education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and humanitarian services, benefitting orphans, widows, students, and vulnerable communities across Nigeria, irrespective of religion or ethnicity.

The ceremony is expected to attract over 30 traditional rulers, including the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Dr. Sa’ad Abubakar III; the Shehu of Borno; the Emir of Zazzau; the Emir of Bauchi; and the Emir of Lafia, among others.
Governor Mai Mala Buni (CON), who holds the title of Sardauna of Fune, will serve as Special Guest of Honour, while Deputy Governor Gubana will be the Guest of Honour.
The statement concluded by calling on Nigerians from all walks of life to join the Fune Emirate in celebrating a man whose life has remained a symbol of selfless leadership, national service, and unwavering commitment to traditional values.
