Workers at the Taraba Quarry on Monday staged a peaceful protest over the non-payment of salaries for three consecutive months.
The protesters blocked the main entrance to the company premises, preventing the Managing Director from accessing the office.

Speaking to NEWSPOINTER, some of the workers said they had been working without pay since April and efforts to get management to address the issue had yielded no result.
“We decided to block the gate because we have been patient for too long. Many of us are struggling to feed our families,” one of the workers said.
The protest, which began early in the morning, remained peaceful with no reports of violence or police intervention.

Attempts to reach the Managing Director for comment were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
The workers said they would continue the protest until their salaries are paid.
