Youths from Ardo-Kola, Karim Lamido, and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State have expressed disappointment over what they described as the poor representation by their member in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdullahi Muhammad Lauya.

The youths, under various local advocacy groups, criticised Lauya for what they termed a lack of constituency projects and meaningful engagement since his election.

They described his performance as “worrisome,” adding that his leadership has been “weak and ineffective.”

Their reaction follows recent reports of empowerment programmes and development projects undertaken by Hon. Jaafaru Yakubu Ciroma, who represents Bali/Gassol Federal Constituency in the same state.

According to the youths, the contrast between both lawmakers is glaring, and it has sparked renewed calls for accountability.

“While other constituencies are witnessing developmental strides and receiving direct benefits from their elected representatives, we in Ardo-Kola, Karim Lamido, and Lau are yet to feel the impact of Hon. Lauya’s representation,” one of the youth leaders said.

They urged the lawmaker to take a cue from his colleague and begin initiatives that directly benefit the people of his constituency.
