The Yobe State Police Command says it has arraigned no fewer than 103 suspects for allegedly engaging in various drug-related offences across the state.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, disclosed this in a statement issued in Damaturu on Monday.

Abdulkarim said the suspects were apprehended during coordinated raids carried out in identified black spots and criminal hideouts in collaboration with the state government and other security agencies.
He further revealed that three suspected drug barons are currently undergoing discreet investigation at the Yobe State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Ado, has reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to the ongoing fight against drug abuse and trafficking in the state,” the statement read.
The police spokesperson warned that drug abuse poses serious risks including addiction, physical and mental health challenges, increased criminal behaviour, social isolation, and long-term damage to education and career prospects.

He urged members of the public to support ongoing efforts to address the menace by educating themselves and others, reporting suspicious activities, and assisting individuals struggling with addiction.
