Stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Gombe State have said they are not threatened by the increasing number of high-profile politicians joining the party from rival political platforms.
They made this known during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting held in Gombe, where party executives, local government chairmen, and 2023 candidates met to review the party’s structure and discuss the integration of new members.

The ADC has recently witnessed the defection of politicians from the All Progressives Congress, Peoples Democratic Party, Congress for Progressive Change, and the Labour Party into its fold.
Despite concerns that the influx could unsettle the party’s internal dynamics, the stakeholders maintained that the development would rather strengthen the party ahead of future elections.
ADC State Chairman, Ya’u Danladi, told journalists that the party was committed to creating a level playing field for both old and new members.
“We are not threatened in any way by the big shots coming into the party,” Danladi said. “They have promised to work with us and support the party. Likewise, we are prepared to accommodate them and ensure we all work together to build the ADC.”
He said the meeting focused on internal matters and how best to support both the coalition leaders and existing party members.
Also speaking, Mohammed Buhari Dalhatu, the party’s candidate for Gombe North State Constituency in the 2023 election, said he had no reservations about contesting against any new entrant in future primaries.

“I don’t feel threatened by anyone. After all, we’ll all go through the same primary process,” he said. “In 2023, I came third with over 2,000 votes. This meeting is timely and necessary to prepare us for what lies ahead.”
The stakeholders stressed the importance of unity and strategic planning, especially as the party positions itself as a credible alternative in Gombe State politics.
