Assembly Commends Zulum’s Commitment to Infrastructure Development

The Borno State Road Maintenance Agency (BORMA) has reiterated its commitment to deliver critical road infrastructure projects before the end of 2025.
Chairman of the agency, Engr. Sadu Abdullahi Auno, gave the assurance yesterday during an inspection of ongoing works in Maiduguri, conducted in company of the State House Committee on Works.
The projects visited include the 16.6-kilometre Jos–Damasak road, Damasak–Baga road, the 3.4-kilometre State Teaching Hospital road network, the rehabilitation and dualisation of the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport road, as well as the Bolori road and drainage system.
According to Auno, work on the Teaching Hospital road network has reached 80 per cent completion, while the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport dualisation project has attained a similar level, including provisions for parking and a single-lane access road. He added that the Bolori road and drainage project is expected to be completed within two months.
The BORMA chairman further disclosed that the agency is rehabilitating the 20-kilometre Womdiyo–Chibok road in addition to other priority projects across the state.

Speaking during the oversight visit, Chairman of the House Committee on Works and Housing, Hon. Abdullahi Buba Abatcha, commended Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for sustained investment in road infrastructure, describing it as a fulfilment of the administration’s 2025 budget commitments.
He also praised the synergy between BORMA, the supervising ministry, and the State Assembly, noting that appropriated resources were being effectively applied to transformative infrastructure projects.
