The Permanent Secretary of the Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Abduhamid Mohammed, has expressed optimism over a proposed partnership with New Globe, an international education support organisation, to enhance the delivery of basic education in the state.
Mohammed said the collaboration is expected to tackle key challenges affecting foundational learning in Bauchi State. He stated this shortly after a delegation from New Globe presented its profile to SUBEB management as part of efforts to explore areas of cooperation with the state government.
He explained that the Board is impressed with New Globe’s track record in states such as Jigawa, Lagos, and Kwara, as well as in countries like Rwanda, adding that any initiative adopted would be tailored to suit the peculiar needs of Bauchi State.
Earlier, the Manager, Policy and Partnerships, New Globe Africa, Pearl Owei, outlined the organisation’s 360-degree approach to strengthening basic education through improved literacy and numeracy outcomes.

Owei added that New Globe also supports states in accessing grants from international institutions, including the World Bank, to drive education reforms. According to her, the organisation looks forward to working with the Bauchi State Government to strengthen systems, build institutional capacity, and enhance teachers’ professional development.
