NULGE – Nov. 22, 2025

The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, Taraba State chapter, has distanced Local Government workers from the payroll verification exercise scheduled for November 24 to 28, 2025.
The clarification followed an announcement referenced MOF/HQ/5/6/267 and issued by the Committee on Payroll Verification. The committee had fixed a screening exercise for next week, creating anxiety among some Local Government employees.

In a statement on Friday, the NULGE State President, Comrade Baji Wakili Damuga, said the exercise was strictly meant for affected workers in the State Civil Service, and not for Local Government staff.
Damuga said a separate date would be announced later for Local Government employees who may be affected by the verification process.
He added that the timetable for the planned automation and biometric data capture for Local Government workers across the 16 LGAs—including those under TSUBEB—would be made public once preparations were completed.
