Bauchi Attack – Nov. 23, 2025

Five personnel of the Bauchi State Police Command have been killed after a patrol team was ambushed by armed bandits in Sabon Sara village, Darazo Local Government Area of the state.
The deceased officers were identified as DSP Ahmad Muhammad (SID), ASP Mustapha Muhammad (10 PMF), Inspector Amarhel Yunusa (10 PMF), Inspector Idris Ahmed (10 PMF), and Corporal Isah Muazu (AKU). Two others—Inspector Isah Musa (SID) and Inspector Yusuf Gambo (SID)—sustained injuries.

A statement issued on Sunday by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, said the attack occurred on Saturday, November 22, 2025. He said the officers were responding to credible intelligence from a Good Samaritan who reported the presence of suspicious armed men in the area.
Wakil explained that the combined tactical unit, drawn from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), 10 PMF, Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) and the State Intelligence Department (SID), was on an intelligence-led patrol to avert a potential farmer–herder clash when they came under sudden attack.
“The Bauchi State Police Command, regrettably and sorrowfully, wishes to inform the general public of an unfortunate and tragic incident involving combined police tactical teams on patrol within Sabon Sara village,” the statement read.

Wakil described the killing of the officers as a major loss to the Command and the state, noting that efforts have been intensified to track down the perpetrators.
