The Yobe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (YSCHMA) has cautioned newly recruited and deployed staff against acts of sabotage, fraud, and betrayal of trust within the agency.
The warning was issued by the YSCHMA Executive Secretary, Dr Babagana Tijjani, during a three-day capacity-building programme for staff held in Damaturu.
Tijjani said the agency is closely monitoring the conduct of all personnel, stressing that any staff member found culpable would face appropriate sanctions.

“No sabotage or conspiracy by any identified staff of the agency will be allowed to undermine the smooth running of the organisation,” he said. “YSCHMA is a place for serious business. Indiscipline and flimsy excuses will not be tolerated. Anyone found violating the rules and regulations guiding the conduct of the agency will be penalised accordingly.”
Represented at the event by the Director of ICT, Malam Saleh Ibrahim, the Executive Secretary explained that the training was designed to acquaint staff with health financing principles, the operationalisation of the agency’s health insurance models, as well as monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
He urged participants to discharge their duties diligently and punctually to support Yobe State’s goal of attaining Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by 2030, noting that this aligns with the health policy agenda of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration.
In his remarks, the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr Gambo Mohammed Gana, said the programme would focus on expanding the scheme’s coverage, deepening understanding of national health systems and policies, and clarifying the roles of stakeholders in health financing.
According to him, participants would also be introduced to data management tools, health information systems, and the importance of monitoring and evaluation in effective programme delivery.
The training facilitators were led by Malam Shuaibu Ahmed Indabawa, a global health financing and health economics consultant.
