The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has approved the revocation of 1,095 land titles in Abuja over failure by owners to pay statutory charges.
The affected properties were revoked after a 14-day grace period, which expired on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, granted to defaulters to settle outstanding ground rent, land use conversion charges and Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) fees.
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), in a statement issued by its Department of Land Administration at the weekend, said 835 properties were revoked for ground rent default, while 260 others were affected for land use contravention payment defaults.
According to the statement, details of the affected properties — including plot numbers, cadastral zones, districts, file references, amounts owed and revocation dates — have been published.
The FCTA said enforcement followed repeated notices published in national newspapers, online platforms and broadcast stations, warning defaulters to regularise their payments.

It noted that failure to comply contravenes Section 28(5)(a) and (b) of the Land Use Act, as well as the terms and conditions attached to the respective Rights of Occupancy.
Several prominent individuals were listed among the affected property owners. They include former Chief of Army Staff, Theophilus Danjuma; former First Lady, Patience Jonathan; former Senate President, David Mark; former Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido; and Senator Ali Ndume.
Others include former Osun State deputy governor, Senator Iyiola Omisore; the Emir of Ilorin; Professor Bolaji Akinyemi; former Peoples Democratic Party chairman, Tony Anenih; and former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke.
Former governors whose properties appeared on the list include Abdullahi Ganduje, Donald Duke, Ibrahim Dankwambo, Ayodele Fayose and Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
Institutions affected include the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Navy, the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Federal Ministry of Finance, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
Corporate organisations listed include BUA International Limited, First Bank of Nigeria, Guaranty Trust Bank, Zenith Bank, United Bank for Africa and the Niger Delta Development Commission.
The FCTA said the revocation exercise would continue in line with provisions of the Land Use Act.
