Taraba: Karim Lamido council imposes 20-hour curfew

The Chairperson of Karim Lamido Local Government Council of Taraba State, Virginia Baba Bambur, has imposed a 20-hour dusk-to-dawn curfew in the area following a crisis.

The curfew, according to a statement made available on Monday, takes effect from December 1, 2025, and covers the entire local government area, including the administrative headquarters.

The statement said all commercial activities and movement of persons have been suspended until further notice as part of measures to restore peace and normalcy.

It added that security agencies in the area have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the order for effective enforcement of the council’s security measures.

Residents were urged to cooperate with security operatives and adhere strictly to the curfew in the interest of public safety.
