30 Commissioners – Dec. 12, 2025

Niger State Governor, Umaru Mohammed Bago, has inaugurated thirty newly appointed commissioners, board members, as well as chairmen of local government councils and their deputies, marking a major step in his administration’s ongoing governance restructuring.

The swearing-in ceremony, held in Minna on Friday, brought together top government officials, politicians, and traditional leaders as Governor Bago charged the appointees to justify the trust reposed in them.

He urged the new officials to demonstrate integrity, competence, and unwavering commitment to the state’s development agenda, stressing that Niger State cannot afford complacency at a time when citizens are demanding better governance and improved service delivery.

Governor Bago noted that the appointments reflect a careful selection of individuals with proven capacity across various sectors, adding that the new leadership structure would strengthen institutions and accelerate ongoing reforms.

The governor further tasked the appointees to work collectively, prioritise security, revenue generation, agricultural transformation, infrastructure renewal, and social welfare initiatives.

He assured that his administration will continue to provide the necessary support to enable them discharge their duties effectively.

The event also featured the administering of oaths by the Chief Judge of Niger State, after which the officials pledged loyalty and dedication to the state.
