Panic briefly gripped the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport on Sunday morning when a private jet operated by Flybird Airlines crash-landed while arriving at the airport.
The incident reportedly occurred during the aircraft’s final approach, causing alarm among passengers, airport staff, and travellers waiting to board other flights. Eyewitnesses said smoke and sparks were seen as the plane touched down.

Emergency response teams from the airport’s fire service and security personnel were immediately deployed to the scene. Passengers and crew members were safely evacuated within minutes.
Authorities confirmed that there were no fatalities, although some passengers sustained minor injuries and were attended to at the airport’s medical facility. The quick response helped prevent what could have been a major disaster.
