The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has cautioned social media influencers and content creators against carrying out and promoting dangerous stunts on public roads, warning that such acts pose serious risks to lives and property.
The Corps said it has observed a growing trend of risky driving behaviours staged for online content, including speeding, reckless driving, obstruction of highways and filming while driving, noting that these actions have contributed to road crashes and fatalities.

According to the FRSC, Nigerian traffic laws clearly prohibit any activity that endangers other road users, stressing that offenders will be arrested and prosecuted in line with existing regulations, regardless of their social status or online following.
The agency further warned that vehicles used in committing such offences could be impounded, adding that no individual is above the law when it comes to road safety.
While acknowledging the influence of social media in shaping public behaviour, the FRSC urged influencers to channel their creativity towards promoting safe driving habits and positive road safety messages.
It also called on members of the public to report dangerous activities on highways, emphasizing that ensuring safety on Nigerian roads remains a shared responsibility.
