The Kwara Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has witnessed a change of leadership following the formal handover from Comptroller Faith Mathew Ojeifo to Deputy Comptroller Najeem Akanmu Ogundeyi, who has assumed duty as Acting Area Controller.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Ojeifo expressed gratitude to officers and men of the Command, sister security agencies and key stakeholders for their cooperation and support during his tenure. He said the collective effort of personnel contributed to the Command’s achievements in revenue generation, enforcement and service delivery.

According to him, the Command recorded notable successes through teamwork and professionalism, adding that he was confident in the capacity and leadership qualities of his successor.
“I have absolute confidence in the leadership ability and experience of DC Najeem Ogundeyi. I urge officers and men of the Command to give him maximum loyalty and cooperation to ensure continuity and progress,” Ojeifo said.
The outgoing Controller also thanked the Comptroller-General of Customs for the opportunity to serve, while wishing the Kwara Area Command sustained peace and operational excellence.
In his remarks, the new Acting Area Controller, DC Ogundeyi, thanked the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, and the management of the Service for the confidence reposed in him.
He commended Ojeifo for what he described as impactful leadership, noting that his tenure laid a solid foundation for the Command.
“Comptroller Faith Ojeifo’s commitment to duty, discipline and professionalism has positioned this Command for greater achievements, and we will build on the gains already recorded,” Ogundeyi said.
He assured officers and stakeholders of transparent, disciplined and inclusive leadership, stressing that teamwork would remain central to achieving the Command’s mandate.
“My leadership will be anchored on teamwork, professionalism, transparency and strict adherence to rules and regulations,” he said.
Ogundeyi called on officers to remain committed and cooperative as the Command works to consolidate existing achievements, address emerging challenges and enhance revenue generation, border security and trade facilitation in Kwara State.
