Kwara Hausa Youth Urged to Be Empowered for Self-Reliance

The Kwara State Government (KWSG) has been urged to extend empowerment support to Hausa youth in the state to make them self-reliant, just as other residents have benefited from government initiatives.

The appeal was made by the Sarkin Samarin Hausawa of Kwara State, Alhaji Yahaya Uba, in a statement made available to newsmen in Ilorin. He lamented that since the inauguration of the current administration, the Hausa youth have been largely overlooked and left without any form of government assistance.

Alhaji Uba stressed that the Hausa community, given its sizeable population and significant contributions to the development of the state, deserves deliberate attention from the government. He said support in the form of skills acquisition and business empowerment would enable Hausa youth to thrive in their chosen vocations.

He further noted that such empowerment is crucial for fostering economic independence and reducing unemployment among young people in the community, while also encouraging them to contribute more effectively to the socio-economic development of Kwara State.

Reassuring the government of their continued loyalty, the Sarkin Samarin Hausawa affirmed that Hausa youth remain committed to supporting government policies and programmes aimed at overall state growth.
