Christmas: Gov Kefas Calls for Peaceful Celebrations, Assures Tarabans of Security

Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has urged residents of the state to celebrate the 2025 Christmas season peacefully and responsibly, assuring them that adequate security arrangements have been put in place to ensure a safe and hitch-free festive period.

The governor made the call in his Christmas broadcast to the people of the state, describing the season as a period of love, sacrifice, hope and peace, while urging citizens to reflect on shared humanity and strengthen unity across communities.

Kefas cautioned residents to conduct themselves responsibly during the celebrations, particularly on the roads, in homes, markets, places of worship and other public spaces, stressing that celebration must not come at the expense of safety or public peace.

He reassured Tarabans that security remains a top priority of his administration, noting that security agencies, working in collaboration with community leaders, traditional institutions and local vigilance groups, have been fully deployed across the state to maintain law and order during the festive season.

According to the governor, the deployment is aimed at protecting lives, property and livelihoods, while urging residents to remain law-abiding, vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.

Kefas further reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of farmers, traders, workers, youths, women, elders and children, assuring that his government would continue to create opportunities for prosperity while sustaining peace, harmony and normal daily activities across the state.

He urged the people to use the Christmas season to forgive, reconcile and support the vulnerable, regardless of tribe, religion or social status, expressing optimism that the New Year would bring renewed hope, greater unity and sustained development to Taraba State.
