Gov. Kefas Calls for Unity, Assures Taraba Citizens of Committed Leadership

Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has dismissed reports suggesting that a group sought to negotiate with him, describing such claims as baseless and insisting they will not distract him from his official duties.

Governor Kefas, while addressing the press in Jalingo during a new year dinner emphasized his commitment to service, noting that his focus remains on delivering results for the people of the state rather than engaging in distractions.

He said he carefully considers criticisms against his leadership, adding that much of the negativity circulating is unfounded.

The governor warned against unnecessary interference in governance, stating that he cannot assume the responsibilities of others, including those of journalists, as his priority is to fulfill his own mandate effectively.

He urged Journalist to focus on their roles, assuring them of his continued support while calling for mutual cooperation to achieve common goals.

Kefas further noted that leadership is about “finishing well,” stressing his determination to leave office with a record of meaningful achievements.

He added that public appreciation may not come immediately, but the true assessment of his performance will be made at the end of his tenure, emphasizing that current challenges signal that more work still lies ahead.

Dr. Agbu Kefas pledged to support the media through training to build their capacity and as well provide enabling environment for media to carryout their duties.

He sought for more partnership with media Organizations which he described as the agents that will mirror his achievements to the world.

Concluding his remarks, the governor reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of the people, describing their interests as his top priority. He called for prayers and support from citizens to ensure that the government continues to make positive impacts across the state.
