The Taraba State Government has reassured residents that law-abiding citizens have nothing to fear following the designation of Special Security Concern areas across the state.

The government described the measure as temporary, subject to periodic review, and strictly guided by the Constitution, with full respect for fundamental human rights.

According a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Yusuf Sanda, the designation aims to enhance coordination among security agencies and improve intelligence-led patrols and surveillance.

It also seeks to lawfully regulate activities in identified flashpoint zones while strengthening community-based early-warning mechanisms to prevent potential security threats.

Residents, including traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth leaders, and other community stakeholders, were urged to cooperate with security agencies to ensure peace, stability, and mutual trust.

The government emphasized that the initiative is part of its broader commitment to maintain peace across all parts of Taraba State.

Authorities pledged to continue taking proactive, lawful, and people-centered steps to safeguard the well-being of all citizens.

The statement concluded by encouraging communities to remain vigilant and supportive of government efforts to enhance security and public safety in the state.
