The Chairman of Kurmi Local Government Council, Hon. Moses Maihankali, has commended the people of Kurmi Local Government Area for celebrating the 2025 Yuletide season in an atmosphere of peace, unity, and harmony.

Hon. Maihankali, who also doubles as Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Taraba State Chapter, made the commendation in an interview with Newspointer in Jalingo, describing the festive period as a time of sober reflection that ushered residents into the New Year with renewed hope and purpose.

He urged the people to continue to live together in unity and extend hands of fellowship to one another, while strengthening their faith in God as they embrace the opportunities and responsibilities of the New Year.

The council chairman also advised residents to remain security conscious during and after the celebrations, stressing that collective vigilance remains critical to sustaining peace and stability at the grassroots.

Speaking in his capacity as ALGON chairman, Maihankali called on Tarabans to sustain their support for the administration of Governor Agbu Kefas, noting that such cooperation would enable the government to deliver more dividends of democracy, especially at the local government level.

According to him, residents should expect increased developmental projects across the state under the Kefas-led administration, adding that local councils are fully aligned with the governor’s development agenda.

He assured that chairmen of the 16 local government councils and the two Special Development Areas in the state would continue to key into government initiatives aimed at accelerating development and improving the welfare of the people.

Maihankali further urged citizens to remain law-abiding, act as ambassadors of peace, and support government policies and programmes in the overall interest of sustainable development and progress in Taraba State.
