The Takum Samba Sociocultural Development Association has declared its support for Governor Agbu Kefas, citing reforms across key sectors of the state in the last two years.
In a statement issued at the weekend and signed by its Chairman, Comrade Victor Usman, the association said its endorsement was not politically motivated but rooted in the pursuit of unity and development in Taraba.
The group commended the administration’s initiatives in education, agriculture, healthcare and security, noting that measures such as the introduction of free and compulsory education and a 50 per cent reduction in tertiary school fees had provided relief to families struggling with rising costs.
It further lauded the resolution of the Takum chieftaincy crisis and the revival of the Nwonyo Fishing Festival, describing both as milestones in peacebuilding and cultural rejuvenation.
However, the association stressed that more needed to be done, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, renewable energy, vocational training and wider healthcare access.

According to the statement, “While Governor Kefas has laid a strong foundation that could reposition Taraba as a hub for tourism, agriculture and human capital development, consolidating on these gains requires continuity, transparency and responsiveness to the needs of the people.”
The association pledged continued partnership with the government, while urging the administration to deepen its engagement with communities in order to sustain peace and inclusive development.
