A Group Known as Northern Professionals Forum has called on the Dethroned Emir of Kano Aminu Ado Bayero to toe the part of Honor and accept his Dethronement by the Kano State Government in good faith.
The Director General of the Forum Architect Usman Yusuf made the call in Kano while briefing Journalists on the Chieftaincy tussle.
He described the process of removing the Bayero as fair devoid of any personal interest.
“We therefore, admonish and call upon the Former Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero to toe the path of Honour and dignity, and allow peace to reign in Kano State.”
Yusuf enjoined the political class “who are the author’s of balkanizing the Long Historic monolithic Kano Emirate, to eschew bitterness, and embrace the new law, for the onward progress and continued coexistence of peace-loving people of Kano State.”
The Northern Professionals Forum noted that, it is in total support of the Kano state Government decision on the reinstatement of Emir Mohammad Sanusi || after reviewing the the state Emirate Council Amendment Law(Repeal Bill)2024.
“As indigent professionals of Northern Nigeria; from diverse fields of expertise and scholarship – we have observed with keen interest the controversy surrounding the executive assent and approval of the Kano State Emirates Council Amendment Law (Repeal Bil) 2024, passed by the State House of Assembly, approved by Kano State Executive Council and assented to; by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State.”
” Having inductively looked at the issues at stake, and of course, upon our legal luminary’s professional counsel and advice; as well, expert autopsy of the subject matter we hereby affirm that the actions of the Kano State House of Assembly, was done in accordance with the provisions of the law and extant rules.”
Architect Usman Yusuf maitained that the subsequent approval, assenting of the Bill, consequential dissolution of the embattled Emirates and Reinstatement of His Royal Highness, Muhammadu Sanusi II, as 16TH Emir of Kano – were all in tandem with the rule of law and powers conferred on the Governor as enshrined in 1999 constitution (as amended).
” In response to the growing national dialogue and ongoing misguided media statements and commentaries on the subject matter, including but not limited to factual misconceptions and public outcry – we deem it fit to summon this press conference, so as to set the records straight, redefine the narratives, enlighten the public, and provide factual evidences to media outlets, that the actions of the Kano State Government are consistent with the law and constitutional provisions.”
He noted that the court order halting the reinstatement of His Royal Highness, Muhammadu Sanusi II, was belatedly executed, came late.
“However, the grand standing and gangsterism with which the court order was celebrated and pursued by disgruntled elements; poses a serious threat to the peace and stability of Kano State, the North and Nigeria by extension. We reject in totality the palpable actions of miscreants and jobless clowns in their resolve to foment trouble and sabotage the reign of the 16th Emir. This shouldn’t be allowed to escalate.”
“Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II, being one of Arewa’s finest intellectual property, an internationally celebrated economic magnet, a repertoire of Islamic Ideals and Knowledge, as well an orator of high standing – is the best bait for contemporary development of Kano State, the North and Nigeria in general”.
