The Paramount Chief of Gashaka Chiefdom in Taraba state, Alhaji Dr. Zubairu Hammangabdo Sambo, Lamdo Gashaka, has applauded the contributions of the African Nature Investors (ANI) foundation for promoting Ecosystem and Biodiversity at the Gashaka Gumti National Park and the entire community in the area.

The first class Chief in Taraba, Lamdo Gashaka, Dr. Zubairu Hamamgabdo Sambo said the ANI’s partnership with the National park is crucial in the restoration of law and order within and around the National park communities for proper restoration of conservation and the ecosystem.
In a recent interview with NIGERIAN NEWSPOINTER, the monarch said the foundation’s efforts had significantly improved security and conservation in the area.

The Lamdo noted that the foundation’s activities had provided valuable training opportunities for local residents, enhancing the economy of the host community.
“These skills acquisition trainings which include; tailoring, rice milling, as well as savings and loan schemes, Africa Nature Investors is doing a great job in the development of Gashaka Gumti National Park and the entire Communities in Gashaka”.

He further lauded ANI for its efforts in training and empowering the National park rangers, whom, he said, have been instrumental in combating crime in the area.
The monarch further said “criminals who make things difficult at the park have all been chased out of the park by the rangers though the coming of ANI foundation. We can now sleep with both eyes closed since ANI arrived in Gashaka.”

Lamdo Zubairu Hamamgabdo Sambo acknowledged that many community members had previously fallen victim to kidnappings and even murder by bandits.
Also speaking the third class Chief of Mayo-Selbe in Gashaka local government area of Taraba state, Kum Yerima Thomas Maiyanga also throw his wards on the successes recorded at the coming of ANI foundation in the area.

He described with optimism the activities of ANI foundation as a great success to both the National park and his chiefdom in the areas of empowerment, training of Youths, vonarable woman among others to meet up with the challenges economy hardship in the area.
The third class Chief who said the activities of ANI foundation can not be over emphasized converses for corporation from his subjects and the Taraba state government to support the activities of ANI foundation to move the National park and the communities forward to attract more Investors for conservation.

Speaking further on the allegation of mining activities in the park by ANI foundation both Monarch’s refuted the allegations saying they are mere fabrications and called on Communities to abstain from the act which is capable of destroying the good works of the foundation.
