Dr. Bachama Yusuf has been elected as the new chairman of the Association of Non-Governmental Organisations (ANGO) in Gombe State, securing 23 votes in a tightly contested election.

Idris Maigari Lawanti, who received 22 votes, will serve as the deputy chairman.
The newly elected executive includes Yahaya Mohammed as Secretary, Farida Mohammed Dunama as Assistant Secretary, and Joshua Stephen Kenan as Director of Finance and Administration, with additional departmental directors elected.

The election saw 23 out of 36 member organizations participate, reflecting 64% of total membership.
In his acceptance speech, Bachama Yusuf vowed to work towards promoting the interests of NGOs in Gombe, ensuring the association amplifies the voices of the marginalized and vulnerable while fostering stronger collaborations with civil society, government bodies, and other stakeholders.
