The Kwara State Government has taken a significant step towards boosting technological development in the state by officially handing over the site for a ₦242 million ICT project in Shonga, Edu Local Government Area, to Skylat-One Nigeria Ltd.

The project, initiated at the request of the Shonga community, underscores the administration’s commitment to fostering socio-economic growth through technology.
At the handover ceremony, the Commissioner for Business, Innovation, and Technology, Hon. Damilola Yusuf Adelodun, highlighted the transformative potential of the project.
She praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s dedication to creating infrastructure that supports innovation, enhances the local economy, and provides job opportunities.

Hon. Adelodun emphasized the importance of quality delivery from the contractor, ensuring the funds are well-utilized to meet the project’s objectives.
Similarly, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Mary Kemi Adeoshun, called for efficient resource management and timely completion.
The Emir of Shonga, Alhaji Dr. Haliru Ndanusa Yahaya, expressed gratitude to the state government, noting that the ICT center will play a pivotal role in improving education, boosting the digital economy, and fostering socio-economic development in the region.


He reiterated the community’s commitment to leveraging the facility for skill acquisition and economic advancement.
Adegboyega Akinwumi of Skylat-One Nigeria Ltd., the project’s contractor, assured the government and stakeholders of delivering a high-quality job that meets expectations.
The event was graced by key officials and community leaders, including Mr. Tunde Thompson Amos, Director of Personnel, Finance, and Supply; Project Manager, Mr. Rafiu Bayo Adeniran; Desk Officer, Nurudeen Agunbiade; and Mallam Adam Jibril, President of the Shonga Community.

This project is poised to position Shonga as a hub for digital transformation, setting the stage for technological and economic progress in Kwara State.
